Vert Vertigo is a green that makes people lean in or step back. There is nothing muted about U4 — it is a bright, saturated, unmistakably deliberate green — and on Epsom’s even grain it stays flat and true instead of going patchy in the folds. Gold hardware keeps it festive; silver would have made it sporty.
Epsom is the sensible choice for a colour this loud. The leather is heat-embossed and firm, so rain and scuffs do not register, and the shape stays crisp, which a saturated colour needs to look intentional. A green this loud on a soft, slouchy hide would be a completely different, messier bag.
What it holds is the standard small load — phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick — inside 19 x 12 x 5.5 cm. My rule for wearing it is one green only: it goes with cream, navy, grey and denim, and it does not go out with anything else that wants attention.
Honest verdict: this is the loudest bag I own, and I would not recommend it as someone’s only Kelly Mini. It is a piece you buy knowing exactly why, and then it repays you every time you wear it with something plain. Plan the outfit once and the bag does the rest of the work.
For anyone whose wardrobe is mostly one shade of sober, it is also a very easy way to look like you have a personality in a lift.
