Cherry blossom pink is not usually my territory, and Rose Sakura is the reason that changed. It is a soft, slightly milky pink, the colour of petals a few days before they fall, and against grey knitwear it performs a small daily miracle: the outfit looks considered, not cute.
The bag itself is the familiar Evelyne formula in the middle size, twenty-nine centimetres of Taurillon Clemence with the punched H on the front and a woven strap that rides between shoulder and crossbody. In this colour the softness of the leather is especially apparent, because pale pinks show every fold and shadow of the grain, and the perforations carve clean negative space into the front panel. I worried the shade might read juvenile; against grey and navy it reads confident instead, which is a sentence I did not expect to write.
On a spring weekend it carries a phone, a card wallet, keys, a compact, sunglasses and a slim novel, and the rear pocket keeps a train ticket without fishing. I have worn it with denim, with white, with black, and the pink behaved differently but well in each case. The bag stays light even when full, so it suits days that lean social rather than practical.
The honest caveat: pale pinks on soft leather can darken at the edges where hands and clothes rub, so I keep lotion and hand sanitiser away from the surface and store it in its dust bag. Treated with that courtesy, it has stayed petal-fresh.
