What stopped me about this 2424 was the pairing: soft chalk-white Craie against warm Biscuit, with gold hardware warming both. The body mixes Togo calfskin, pebbled and a little spongy under the thumb, with finer Swift where the bag needs to fold and move.
At 29 by 20 by 14 cm it is the roomiest 2424 I have owned, and the one I reach for when a day runs long. A full-size wallet, a phone, sunglasses in their case and keys all go in with space left for a folded scarf or a small notebook. It slips over a coat sleeve without a fight. The flap opens wide enough that I am not excavating; I can see everything at a glance, which sounds trivial until you have owned a deep bag that turns packing into archaeology.
I took it on a two-day train trip: notebook in the middle, tickets and lipstick in the inner pocket, strap across my chest while I juggled luggage on the platform. The Togo drops into a soft slouch when you set it down and settles back into shape when you pick it up again.
My honest caution concerns the white half. Craie is gentle rather than stark, but it is still a light leather, and a dark denim waistband will make itself known within a week of daily wear. Biscuit is the forgiving side of the pair. I keep a soft cloth in the dust bag and give the white panels a pass every couple of weeks, and so far that has been enough.
If you want a two-tone bag that reads quiet across a room and detailed up close, grain, stitching, the gold turnlock, this is where I would start.
