Caban is the navy I recommend to people who insist they only wear black. It runs deep enough to pass for black at dinner and blue enough to notice against denim, and on the mini 2424 the silver hardware keeps it looking like a working bag rather than a dressy one. It is the version I reach for on evenings that begin with a meeting and end somewhere loud.
The 21 × 16 × 12 cm body is cut in Evercolor with Swift where the flap bends, and the proportions are close to a cube, so it stands on its own on a table without tipping. Small thing, but I notice it every time. The flap closes low on the front, so the navy reads as one uninterrupted block of colour.
A power bank, phone, keys and a compact go in without a struggle, and the strap goes short enough to tuck the bag under one arm on a crowded subway. Caban is also the colour that survives coffee shop seats best in my rotation. The silver hardware also resists showing fingerprints, which I cannot say for every polished fitting I have owned.
In direct sun you may wish it were a brighter blue; at night, it is perfect. I wear mine mostly after dark, where the navy and the silver quietly agree with each other. Mostly, this is the bag I take when I want nobody to ask me about my bag, and they ask anyway.
