Bai Brun is brown the way leather is supposed to be brown — warm, mid-depth, neither chocolate nor pale tan. It is the colour of an old bridle, and on a small bag it manages to look both playful and serious.
Contents-wise the mini holds its own: a phone, a folded cardholder, keys and a lipstick, with the depth to keep each in reach rather than in a pile. The twin zippers close over a full bag without complaint, and the bag still sits upright when I set it down. The slim silhouette also means it disappears under an arm at a market stall, which is the sort of thing you appreciate the week after a trip.
Clemence’s pebble grain seems made for this shade — the raised texture catches light along the folds, so the brown never looks flat or painted. Gold hardware finishes the warm story: the clasps sit against the leather like buttons on a good coat.
A note from two summers of use: brown leather deepens where the sun touches it most, so the handle tops will drift a shade or two darker. I think of that as the bag acquiring its own colour rather than ageing.
If you own a lot of olive, cream and denim, this is the quiet workhorse to build a wardrobe around; if you want a bag that never needs a second thought, stop looking here. I would order it again in the same colour, which is the highest recommendation I know how to give.
