Camel and silver is the combination people either love on sight or question. I questioned it, carried it for a month, and now I think 37 Gold with silver hardware is the more modern of the two ways to wear this tan.
The shape and leather are the familiar ones: soft, pebbled Clemence, unlined, open at the top, with just enough body to stand when full. It is the medium size, big enough for a book, a bottle of water, glasses, a wallet, keys and a phone, small enough to sit on a cafe chair without needing its own seat. Open and unbuttoned, it is the easiest bag I own to pack in a hurry, which is most mornings.
Silver cools the tan down; the bag reads sharper and slightly greyer than you expect, and it picks up black and slate in a way warm metal never quite manages. The lock threads over its leather keeper and disappears politely into the side of the bag. Up close, the cool fittings and the warm grain make a contrast you notice a little more each time you pick it up.
Honest note: if you want the traditional warm pairing, this is not it. Camel with silver is a deliberate mismatch, and in winter light it can look a little brisk next to brown boots. In summer, though, with white or washed denim, it is the pairing I would choose all over again; the bag does what navy does, only softer.
