Of all the greys we handle, Gris Mouette is the chameleon. It carries a faint blue undertone, so it turns cool against black tailoring and almost dove-soft beside cream or dusty pink. If you have ever bought a grey bag only to find it flat, this is the correction. It has never once clashed with anything I own.
The frame reads eighteen centimetres in profile, thirteen centimetres deep – among the smallest bucket shapes worth carrying. Silver-tone hardware keeps the mood crisp, while Taurillon Clemence supplies the soft, pebbled hand this line is known for. Load it lightly and the bag slouches; load it well and it earns a gentle lean.
What packs into mine: a compact wallet, a phone, a key pouch and, in winter, a rolled cashmere scarf that sits on top until needed. There is no lining to hide the leather’s natural back, and the single lock tab opens with one practised turn. It suits a train commute as easily as a Saturday market, and folded flat it slips into a suitcase overnight.
The honest caveat is colour care. Gris Mouette is deep enough for most wardrobes, but a soft grey will eventually catch a hint of indigo from raw denim, so I would not debut it against brand-new jeans. Handled with that one rule, it is the grey I recommend to anyone building a wardrobe around neutrals.
