Some greens whisper; Vert Fizz hums. It is a light, faintly acidic green – lime zest folded into cream – and on the soft Clemence surface it looks fresh beside white denim, stone linen or a grey coat. Think of it as the green equivalent of a cold drink: bracing, clear, impossible to ignore in the best way.
Sized 18 x 13 x 18 cm, the Picotin 18 is built for a tinted lip balm, keys, a phone and a slim cardholder – and little else, which is fine, because a colour this lively wants a sparing load. Silver-tone metal on the lock and handle studs keeps the temperature cool, and the pebbled leather beneath it is as soft as any Picotin in the family.
I use mine as the one bright thing on an otherwise plain outfit: white shirt, plain trousers, and the bag does the talking. The open top is genuinely practical for a market or a coffee run, and the handles slip over a wrist when both hands are busy with bags of peaches and a newspaper.
Honest notes: a green this pale shows scuffs earlier than a dark leather, and Clemence is thirsty, so a sudden shower can freckle it if you ignore the drops. Wipe it dry the same hour and it lives happily, but this is not the colour to choose when what you actually want is a bag that babysits itself.
